Miley Cyrus Explains Why She Won’t Walk Another Red Carpet

Miley thinks the idea of walking a red carpet while there are people starving in the world is crazy. The singer and actress says she refuses to take part in the fame game and believes red carpets are particularly over-the-top. She even compares them to Zoolander:

“(A year ago) I had to do the (A Very Murray Christmas) premiere, and I will never do a red carpet again. Why, when people are starving, am I on a carpet that’s red? Because I’m “important?” Because I’m “famous?” That’s not how I roll. It’s like a skit – it’s like Zoolander.”

Miley is currently working on a new singing competition reality show and she says she’ll be telling everyone who tries out to simply be themselves:

“I don’t want this to come off the wrong way, but I’m going to tell my contestants: Be Bernie Sanders. Be the person people want and love. Don’t worry about the masses. That’s how you make a memorable moment. Let people talk about it.”

She isn’t on Snapchat yet but wants to be:

“No. I want to be. I don’t know how to use it. I feel like I’ll be an old lady that’s too held back, because I don’t keep up with it. I’m not on Pokémon Go. [This morning] Liam woke up and tried to go to the car wash because it was a—what do you call it?—PokéSpot. Like, “Got to go find them and catch them all! Ahh!”
