Rupert Grint Discusses Kissing Emma Watson for ‘Harry Potter’

We all know that Ron and Hermione end up together in ‘Harry Potter’ and so actors Rupert Grint and Emma Watson had to kiss in the film franchise, which was pretty awkward considering Rupert says they grew up like siblings on set from a young age. Discussing the famous kiss, Rupert says it was a hugely pressured moment and that they got it all in just one take. He says he never re-watched the scene:

“I never look back at that scene. I’ve known Emma since she was literally 9 years old and we had this very brother-sister relationship.”

He says that all he remembers is her face coming closer to his and he seems to have blacked everything else out:

“And it just felt very surreal. I have a memory of her face getting closer and closer. Like, ‘Oh my God.’ I can’t really remember anything apart from that. One take was enough. It was such a huge moment and there was so much expectation. Quite a lot of pressure actually.”

Meanwhile, Katie Leung, who plays the love interest of Harry Potter in the film, says she has no regrets about the scene where she puckers up with Daniel Radcliffe, except for her hair cut:

“I wish I never cut my hair the way I did. I had this horrific haircut! You grow as an actor and you change your choices. That’s partly why I can’t watch them. I’m just really judgmental of myself.”
