Winona Ryder Confirms She’ll Star in ‘Beetlejuice 2’

First ‘Ghostbusters’, then ‘Trainspotting’ and now this. ‘Beetlejuice’ is getting a sequel and Winona Ryder has just confirmed that she’ll be returning to play her past character in the new film, which will see Tim Burton directing again. The original was made in 1988 and no information on the actual story has been released yet. However, in a new interview, Winona decided to confirm the news after Burton already made the news official recently:

”Um, I think I can confirm it, because Tim Burton did this interview – like, it was very hush hush, top secret … and then he was doing some press for ‘Big Eyes’ and he did an on-camera interview and he said, ‘Oh yeah we’re doing it and Winona’s going to be in it,’ and I was like [shocked face].”

Burton wants Michael Keaton to return for the role of ‘Beetlejuice’ and says there is now even a script ready for the sequel. He explained:

”There’s only one Beetlejuice, and that’s Michael. There is a script, and I would love to work with him again. I think there is now a better chance than ever. I miss that character. There’s something that’s cathartic and amazing about it. I think it’s closer than ever.”
